Help. My husband is preparing for the bar after he failed in Feb. He has to work 32 hours a week for us to financially survive as all of our college loans has kicked into repayment, we have more than $250k in loans plus credit card debt from carrying us through school. Starting in early Jan he began studying for the bar, but dedicated only a couple hours a day. He always complains of being tired after work and because we cannot afford another prepcourse, he feels completely lost for what he should be studying. From what I see, he is just studying random things, practicing essay (which he did bad on) and a couple mulit-state sections (which he actually scored well enough to pass on) but has not even touched a couple of the areas of law yet. We are at t-minus less than 2 weeks and I am panicking as law school has been a very long and difficult wait, and now, with his second time of taking the bar, he may be setting himself up to fail it and we'll have to wait an entire year before he can take it again. I keep asking him if he's even at the point that he was before he took the bar last time and failed and he always say that's a crazy question to ask and cannot be gauged. Whenever I talk to him about his work ethic, he always says it is crazy to work while studying for the bar, which I understand it is, but gosh, there has to be people that do it- and when they do it- doesn't that equal needing to be more disciplined and organized? Why is his reaction the opposite? Is this normal? It is difficult to continue to wait and be supportive while he is waking up at 11a.m. on some days off of work and can dedicate the entire day so studying and the first thing he says is 'I need to make breakfast a priority'. I'd rather know if he is not even at the point of studying that he was before he failed it last time- can someone tell me if this is a crazy question? He always make me feel stupid and tells me I have no idea about studying for the bar- which I understand is mostly true- but can someone tell me if my common sense should be ignored and shouldn’t be applied to studying for the bar?
